Description

The successful candidate will join the Linux product system team of Register.it SpA,  part of the Dada Group, is the Italian leader in the provision of domain registration, hosting, brand protection and advertising on the Net (http://we.register.it/).

He/she will help resolve conflicts and contribute to achieving team objectives. The position involves on daily maintaining and  developing the platforms on Dada’s Linux systems. This includes making sure that the services are always working, performing and optimized to provide excellent service to end users. The position also involves solving problems that arise on these platforms, implementing quality solutions to eliminate rather than cover-up bugs, demonstrating aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving. The role involves responsibility for documenting solutions using standard documentation that explains which programming choices were made and why.

Professional Background

·         work experience in large scale companies that sell IT services, ISP or internet services

·         at least 5 years’ of experience in Linux field (mandatory)

·         experience clustering solutions with balancer Linux or with balancer hardware, in order to ensure high reliability on configured systems

Requirements

·         excellent knowledge of Linux systems (Debian, RedHat, CentOS, Slackware)

·         excellent knowledge of Bash (profession user level)

·         good knowledge of DB server, Apache, web server, mail server Exim and configuration of LAMP in general

·         good knowledge of networking and iptables

·         excellent knowledge of written and spoken English

·         ability to determine the feasibility of a project through analysis and definition of requirements

·         ability to demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness of solutions through graphs, diagrams and performance analyses

·         constantly up-to-date on new developments in Linux and software used in the company, as well as new ways to build complex architectures

·         be able to maintain absolute level of confidentiality on software solutions developed in the company

Preferential requisites

·         knowledge of  PHP, Perl, Python, and SAN/NAS systems

·         knowledge of Agile methods

·         excellent communication skills

·         ability to work on elements from other teams to coordinate cross-team projects

·         be able to select external suppliers that best meet our needs and able to integrate them into our architecture
